About Me

I consider myself an average, everyday middle-aged woman who's learning to lean into the winds of change. I love my life and I can say that because of the immense blessings from God. As a matter of fact, there is nothing that I have done to deserve or earn anything good in my life. My God saved me and holds me in his hand. The longer I live the more I realize that the hurts and heartaches, the losses and pains are all a part of God's plan. His blessings are endless but sometimes they come wrapped in prickly packages. Still, the biggest thing I've learned so far is that He walks beside us and sustains us minute by minute and gives peace and joy that cannot be explained.

Something else I have learned...No one can be anyone's everything. Really, sometimes we think we are superwoman...you know what I mean. We think we can fix everything and love everyone enough to make everything better for everyone all the time! I'm learning to let go of that lie and give whole-heartedly to a few relationships (family first), and not try and spread myself too thin. It never works. And it's OK to choose who you want to be close to. It's your choice. Choose well.

I have a bachelors degree in Early Childhood Ed and have just retired from teaching 4/5 year old preschoolers in a church school with about 65 students. I can't live without huge daily doses of music. I like to garden, take photos, walk, make jewelry, read, play tennis and go to the beach every chance I get. I like to decorate and organize and paint stuff and sort of dabble in restoring and refinishing things. I have been married to my favorite man for 32 years and have 2 sons who have each given us a grand-daughter. I miss being a Mom of Little's, that was totally my favorite thing in life, but being a Mimi is the best thing ever! Grand parenting is an amazing experience.

Oh...and by the way...I'm still 21 in my mind, so please don't remind me of the truth. It hurts. **smile**
