Retreat

Re.treat: a. A period of seclusion, retirement, or solitude.
b. A period of group withdrawal for prayer, meditation, or study.
I just returned from a weekend retreat with about 70 women from my church. It was a much needed time away from the daily responsibilities and pressures we all deal with.

The problem is...if you are really looking for retreat...do you take 70 of your closest friends along?

Now don't get me wrong.
I love them all and we had a blast! I caught up with some friends that I never seem to spend enough time with. We were ministered to by a wonderful speaker and we gathered before the Throne to worship the Creator. We prayed for one another and held each other up,
encouraging the weak and weary.

We enjoyed being surrounded by the wonder of God's creation. The moon was amazing!

The thing is...now that I'm home...

I need a rest.

  1. It took me all of Saturday to actually get into retreat mode. I felt like I needed to de-mommy myself and just be me...and that took a little coaxing this year. All in all, it was worth it! I'm so glad you were there. Seeing you and your beautiful Mama smiling and enjoying the retreat made me happy. =D

  2. i had a moment on Friday night...an emotional moment...realizing God was really gonna work. It was so stressful to be a part of all God was doing. But it was a good stress!

  3. Visiting from Faith Barista, and first, gotta say - love the look of your blog. Clean and gorgeous! Retreats and vacations are always so great, while we are there. But getting back into "real life" requires a moment or two of down time to readjust. Totally been there! Hope you found just a bit more rest.

  4. Oh how I understand that conundrum! The joy of being with people who I don't normally get much time with, the pleasure of being in a beautiful place, the need for a different kind of rest when it's over. May you find the other rest you need.

I love the images you paired with your words!
