Is God paying attention? Really?

Is He listening? And in the middle of all of these things that are happening....where is He?

He's quiet...and sometimes He takes forever to act. I believe He's there but sometimes I can't tell if it matters. Because this thing is still not "fixed". Where is the evidence of God being in the midst of it all?

Hello...is Anybody there? The water is still rising...the clouds are getting darker...the wind is picking up...are You sure You have a plan? Would you mind telling me what it is??


Remember the story of Lazarus? Think about how Jesus delayed His visit even after Martha and Mary sent for Him. What in the world? He waited 2 days before He went to them! He loved Lazarus and his sisters. He was close to them and certainly did not want to see them suffer. OK...so why the waiting, why the silence, what was the PLAN?

 Then Jesus said, “Did I not tell you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God? John 11:40

Jesus waited...He took His time...He walked when it seemed He should have been running! He didn't say to the sisters, "Hey, I think I'm going to wait a couple days...but I'll be there and it will all be ok, I promise." He actually let Lazarus die. Now what kind of plan was that?

It was the plan of  the Savior...the supernatural plan to display God's glory in a way that is unfathomable, unbelievable, unexplainable.

It was NOT like any human plan that's for sure. No way could Martha and Mary have thought that one up as a solution to their heart break and concern. No, they just had to suffer through a dark couple of days. A time when it seemed that Jesus was not responding. That's how it seemed. But it was not the case. Jesus knew what He was going to do all along. He choose to wait so that He could do an amazing work in the life of those He loved.

"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." Rom 8:28

What are the "all things" that are weighing on you?  Are you worrying and suffering? Do you think God is paying attention? Do you believe He wants to do, and is doing, an amazing work in your life or the life of someone that you love?

The days may be dark and God may seem silent, but He is working. He has a plan. He is there, in all things, He is there.
